This new venture gives farmers and ranchers ownership of North America's leading feed company—positioning them, and their cooperative system, for ongoing success. Land O'Lakes is working to achieve operational excellence and least-cost efficiency in Feed—both of which are essential to delivering value to members.

Land O'Lakes strengthened its leadership position in animal milk replacers in 2000 by beginning the construction of a new, world-class animal milk replacer plant in Black River Falls, Wis. Land O'Lakes, through its MoArk joint venture, also expanded its position in the egg industry with two key acquisitions that will generate additional value for members and enable local co-ops to expand their position in the poultry feed business.

Land O'Lakes intends to grow as an animal production system. As the food chain becomes more and more integrated, it sees the farmer-owned system serving as a crucial linking element.

In Swine, Land O'Lakes remains among industry pacesetters—in the top 15% in efficiency and productivity. And, Land O'Lakes continues to be a leader in environmental responsiveness. Land O'Lakes is extremely proud that its Beaver, Okla., swine facility received recognition from the National Pork Producers Council and the National Pork Board for its environmental stewardship efforts.
